It’s been an eventful holiday season here HR consulting. The good news was we all got time with our families, and some of us got to travel (Colombia, The Amazon, North Carolina). The harder news was that we traveled over some bumpy roads, and we haven’t all arrived at our intended destinations yet. I have to say that really got me to thinking and it reminded me why it matters so much who you work with.

For me, downtime has been hard to come by the past several weeks, but when it has I’ve spent a few minutes on LinkedIn. As always, I found a few posts that just resonated with me. Chad Gono always reminds me that it’s about the people and Hacking HR talked about the impact of leadership and empowering others.

The thread that connects these posts? Being human. Sure, there’s more to them, but I don’t want to spoil them for you.

We want to help you help your people, so we are working to expand our DiSC offering. We like the DiSC assessment tool because it helps people understand their own preferences and tendencies and use that information to be even more effective with others.

Before you go, a few quick compliance reminders:

  • Many employee handbooks need to be updated for 2025; if yours is one of them, we’ll be in touch soon. Let us know if you have questions.
  • All California employers need to post the OSHA 300a from February 1 – April 30 each year; let us know if you need help.

Wishing you a wonderful 2025!
