Dear Affogato Friends,
Every March, I get to spend time doing something that matters as much to me as being a small business owner. I participate in making grants to non-profit organizations in my community. I’m the President of the 100 Women Charitable Foundation. Last week we granted $180,000 to 6 organizations which will use those funds in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. The impact that money has on those charities makes me so proud. At the 100 Women Charitable Foundation, we believe in the power of collective giving. By pooling our resources and working together, we can make a significant impact on the causes we care about. Our foundation supports projects that focus on education, health and wellness and families.
Affogato’s clients are in all kinds of businesses, and about 40% of our clients are non-profit agencies. We have a special spot in our hearts for organizations that care about solving very specific problems. Non-profits especially almost never have enough time, staff, volunteers and other resources to address all the challenges of operating an organization and fulfilling their mission. At Affogato, we specialize in providing tailored solutions that help non-profits maximize their impact, which makes us a trusted partner.
For me, spending time with non-profit organizations on both the program side (through my own volunteer work) and the operations side (through my professional work), helps me stay connected with the community. It’s easy to get caught up in our own lives and forget about the people around us. My hope is that our whole team, and the people in our ecosystem, will also have a fuller sense of belonging and purpose by giving our time and treasure.
How do you give back? We’d love to hear about your passion projects. Please share, and we’ll send you and a friend a cup of coffee!
Jonna
